Traditional area of services provided by VNIIS includes development, implementation, and preparation for certification of Management Systems, including those based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO/TS 22004, ISO/TS 16949, ISO/TS 29001, GMP. VNIIS provides Quality Management Certification services for small and medium companies as well as for major corporations.

Development and Implementation of Management Systems

VNIIS is the leading Russian organization in the area of development, improvement, and implementation of Management Systems (including Quality Management Systems). As early as 1976, the Institute developed the first Russian recommendations for development and implementation of Integrated Product Quality Control Systems.

After the international quality management system standards became available, first ISO 9001 for quality management systems, then ISO 14001 for environmental management systems and OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety management systems, the Institute became a provider of methodological support for the organizations implementing these standards.

With the methodological support of VNIIS more than 80 organizations with different corporate forms and workforce from 25 to 7000 employees were successfully certified by Russian and international certification bodies.

Recently sector-specific Quality Management Systems have gained wide popularity. The most known of them are ISO/TS 16949 (for automotive industry) and HACCP (for food industry) systems, for which VNIIS provides a full range of consulting services.
